Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate, also known as dipotassium glycyrrhizinate, is a derivative of glycyrrhizic acid, formed by the combination of glycyrrhizic acid and potassium ions. Its chemical formula is C₄₂H₆₀K₂O₁₆, with a molecular weight of approximately 899.13 g/mol and a CAS number of 68797-35-3. It is usually a white or off-white crystalline powder, readily soluble in water, with a certain sweet taste and good stability. It is mainly obtained by extracting glycyrrhizic acid from the roots and rhizomes of licorice (such as Glycyrrhiza uralensis and other plants of the Licorice genus), and then undergoing potassium saltization treatment. It is an active ingredient of natural origin.
